Time Entry for Casual Employees
Casual Employee Allowable Hours
- Casual employee hours are entered into CATS.
- No more than 27 hours per week or 987 hours total per year.
- Seasonal employees can work 40 hours per week but cannot work longer than 6 months but cannot exceed 987 in the 6 month period.
- Otherwise, the department should consider making the position part-time or fulltime.

Enter Time for Casual Employees – Part of your job responsibilities may be to enter and monitor hours worked by hourly employee(s). Entering these hours will generate a paycheck for hourly paid employees when payroll runs. Hourly employees are limited or casual/on call employees, or retirees.
